VARIATIONS OF RHYTHMS OF COUPLES' SEXUAL ACTIVITY THREE MONTHS PRIOR TO CONCEPTION OF A BOY

by Yuriy Zharkov

Report

SLIDE 1

Ladies and Gentlemen, Colleagues,

Thanks to organizing and scientific committees for given possibilities to present our work at this great sexological forum in Cuba.

SLIDE 2

As is known, rhythms of sexual activity considerably vary, but, unfortunately, it was not given of sufficient attention to an explanation of this phenomenon, besides ascertaining the fact by researches of A. Kinsey. Probably, the variations of sexual activity provide adaptation of a population to environment. The theory of prezygotic sex determination was offered to explain, what ways it could occur.

SLIDE 3 PLANNING

The special program of family planning reflects the applied aspects of this theory. A married couple can plan conception of the son or daughter using this program. Sexologist acts as a psychotherapist and observes a pair within several months.

SLIDE 4

The legal and ethical aspects of this activity were specified. This activity can be considered as a further development of human reproductive rights.

SLIDE 5

Volunteers - 47 couples were invited to participate in the program of family planning. Sexological examination was carried out, and reproductive attitudes were fixed. Pairs were under supervision during 3 - 7 months up to conception. That pair could support recommend rhythm of sexual activity, complex of recommendations be used.

SLIDE 6

All pairs without excluding had a minimum one child in the family – a girl. Rhythms of sexual activity three months prior to conception of a girl were categorized as “Intensive regular”, “Regular”, and “Irregular”.

Intensive" regular rhythm: 5 -7 intercourse per week at five cases. In their number repeated sexual intercourse during the day - two observations.

Regular rhythm two-three intercourse per week in 21 observations. Regular one intercourse per week or less - in nine cases.

Irregular sexual relations, when periods of abstentions from 2 before 5 weeks were interleaved with intensive sexual activity of periods 3-7 coitus for weeks during 1-3 weeks. 12 cases.

SLIDE 7

Then rhythms up to the introduction into the program to conceive a male baby was fixed, and during the performance of the program. Also, we paid attention to self-attitudes concerning libido level and sexual reactions.

Supervisions were distributed on three groups.

In the first group, rhythm of sexual activity was intensive enough and at performance of the program essentially did not vary.

In the second group, the intensity of sexual activity was 1-3 intercourses per week and sexual activity raised up to 3-7 intercourses per week.

In the third group before performance of the program, the sexual activity was irregular, and the periods of abstentions alternated by intensive sexual life. At performance of the program, the spouses supported an intensive regular rhythm during a minimum 3 months up to conception.

SLIDE 8

In most cases, spouses executed the program. In addition, efficiency of planning is sufficiently high. As well as negative results were fixed.
Indeed, exactly they are present an interest to try to understand, what unknown factors could render an influence. However, number of observations is not enough.

SLIDE 9

At change of rhythms of sexual activity, changes in duration of sexual intercourse were usually marked. At the women, the frequency of orgasm achievement increased. Moreover, the couples' erotic behavior changed, - the spouses expanded its spectrum.

These results were distributed on two groups.

In the first group (n=14) it was not found significant changes of intercourse’ duration, in spite of increasing of rhythm sexual activity. Intercourse’ duration was about three-five minutes.

In the second group (n=33) sexual reactions were changed vastly. Intercourse’ duration was enlarged from one - five minutes to 20-30 minutes. There were 12 cases of delay ejaculation up to anejaculation at repeated sexual intercourse during the day. Periods of abstentions during the day restored ability to ejaculate.

Some men noted about increasing of sexual drive during performing a program (9 cases), about reinforcement of erection (15 cases) and increasing of brightness of orgasm’ feelings (15 cases). Women noted about increasing of frequency of orgasm’ achievement (17 cases).

SLIDE 10

It is important that when raising a rhythm hormonal changes occur - testosterone’ level increases, but estradiol’ level - falls.

Thereby, we should conclude that rhythms of sexual activity within three months before conception of female or male baby greatly differ.

Moreover, when an intensity of sexual activity was increased, sexual behavior and some physiological parameters were change.
Probability of conception the male fetus increases. However, in some cases, in spite of the fact that pair supported sufficiently intensive sexual activity, this does not occur.

All this can be a ground for further investigations.
